Marktbericht No. 56-2019 market update – Chinese pumpkin seeds new crop

2019-08-28 | - Pumpkin seeds from the current harvest almost sold out
- Forecast for the new crop not very promising
- Further price increase for old and new harvest affects all types

Farmers in China will start harvesting their pumpkins within the next 10–20 days. Typhoon Lekima has brought heavy rainfalls to the main cultivation areas Heilongjiang and Inner Mongolia. It is feared that 10 to 15 percent of pumpkins will rot in the fields or be lost due to disease (mould fungus etc.) Beginning of May shallow temperatures has hampered the development of pumpkin plants in Xingjiang.

Marktbericht No. 54-2019 market forecast for Turkish sultanas/Thompson

2019-08-22 – 2019 crop for Turkish sultanas estimated at 300.000mt. The minimum price level for farmers is fixed at TRY 10,00 p.kg.
Today the Turkish Ministry for Agriculture has estimated the 2019 harvest officially at 300.000mt. The minimum prices for farmers are fixed at TRY 10,00 p.kg. In case prices fall below this level TMO and Taris will intervene in the market as a regulative force.

Marktbericht No. 53-2019 Bulgarian Sunflowers new crop

2019-08-21 – Market update: Bulgarian sunflowers, the new crop harvest for sunflowers in full progress in Bulgaria
The new harvest for Bulgarian sunflowers has started. Next Monday our shipper will get production underway. With about 750.000 the growing area will be smaller than the expected 800.000ha. The yield per hectare will be lower than forecast, with about 2.200kg/ha we are behind 2.700 kg/ha compared to the 2018 crop.

Marktbericht No. 52-2019 Turkish sultanas/Thompson new crop

2019-08-22 – Increased price level for Turkish sultanas + Thompsons
This week we are expecting the forecast for the current harvest in Turkey. We have to assume a number below 300.000mt. During the following days the TMO/Taris (Turkish Grain Board/Sultana Raisins Union) will fix and publish the official minimum price for sultanas for the 2019 season. We are expecting TRY 10,00 p.kg.
