Market update No. 40-2018 – market update Türkische Sultanas

2018-07-24 | The new crop vines in Turkey are in the last stadium of their development and we expect first cutting and drying in about 10 – 15 days. The fruit is looking good and healthy. We have not heard about any serious diseases during the growing time yet!

Last winter was very mild and spring were too hot. Vines are stressed and we expected new crop production will be down with 25 – 30% comparing to last year crop. Some exporters expecting about 265.000 mt vs. 320.000 mt last year. Due to the hot weather we expect sugar content will be around 16 – 17 Brix. This cause larger fruits for the next MY and higher upcharges for mediums and smalls comparing with MY 2017/18.
