2020-04-02 | From tomorrow Taris (RAISINS AGRICULTURAL SALES COOPERATIVES UNION) will market their raw materials of sultanas/raisins with TRY 10,00 p.kg. Coronavirus crisis reaches a new peak in infections in Turkey.
Through its resources and later with the support of TMO (TURKISH GRAIN BOARD), Taris bought significant amounts of sultanas/raisins from the 2019 harvest at a minimum price of TRY 10,00 p.kg. During this phase, prices for raw materials increased to TRY 10,50–11,00 p.kg. After Taris had finished, the program prices dropped to TRY 9,35–9,50 p.kg today. Farmers have been very reluctant to sell materials. Over the last 6–8 weeks, the commodity exchange in Izmir saw many days without any relevant transactions.
