In March, several Eastern European states had written to the European Commission stating that imports of Ukrainian grain, oilseeds, eggs, poultry, and sugar had reached unprecedented levels. Therefore, the previously existing tariffs on Ukrainian agricultural imports should be revived. However, the European Union has extended duty-free imports of many farm products until June 2024.
