The crop size is now trading at only about 180,000 MT. Last year, we ended with 340,000 MT. Exports are only marginally lower at 48,565.33 MT compared to 50,468.87 MT in the same period the previous year, even though we are likely to be short of about 60,000 MT quantity for export. The average price has increased from USD 1,646.00 p.MT FOB in the same period last year to USD 1,833.00 p.MT FOB. Today, conventional type 9 sultanas are traded at about USD 2,550.00 p.MT FOB based on TRY 60.00 p.kg for the raw material.

The harvest of Bulgarian sunflower seeds is in full swing. Farmers harvest 70 – 80 % of all fields in the South of Bulgaria. In the North, about 30 – 40 %. The average yields are lower with 160 – 180 kg / dca compared with 240 kg / dca last year. The crop forecast is down from 2,1 Million MT to 1,8 Million MT. The oil content is lower than last year.
