Just now the FDA (US Food and Drug Administration) has issued a bulletin that we will face a harvest collapse of 800.000 mt in Romania and 400.000 mt in Bulgaria for the crop 2020. Furthermore, the price of soya oil has increased by 6 percent. In Bulgaria, some of our competitors switch into panic mode. Today some bakery kernels were traded at USD 1.200,00 p.mt ex-work.

Situation: Based on the current data from the sunflower harvest 2020 in Bulgaria and their own experience our shipper Sadina is expecting a shortage in raw materials of about 450.000–500.000 mt. Over the last 2 weeks, the prices for raw materials have increased by 30 percent. The quotes have risen by 2 percent every day. This development is continuing unabated as we speak. We expect a target price for the harvest 2020 of Leva 600,00 p.mt. All pre-contracts negotiated with your organization were based on these numbers. Yesterday the products were traded with Leva 820,00 p.mt field run ex-farmer. The main reasons for this development are the extremely low hulling yields and the overall availability of raw materials.

This week we had a Taifun in Heilongjiang and Jilin-Province. Heavy rainfalls affected the new crop in Mudanjiang. The fields in the mountains still stay dry because the water flows down. The pumpkin fields in the valleys have been flooded and remaining underwater. In Mudanjiang, we have one of the largest growing areas for SHINE SKIN. So far, we heard that farmers planted 15–20% more SHINE SKIN. Now we have to expect some significant damages.
